There are three passenger harbours in Tallinn, and depending on which ferry line you took, you'll either arrive to Linda Line terminal at Linnahall, terminals A and B close to Linnahall, or terminal D close to Hobujaama. United Backpackers is within walking distance from each of these terminals but you can also opt for taking a tram in which case you need to get to Vabaduse väljak stop. See directions on Google maps for arrivals to terminals A, B here, for terminal D here, and for Linda Line terminal here.
If your backpack isn't too heavy, we recommend walking, you can check instructions on a map here. Another option is to take tram number 4 in Tondi direction, you'll find tram stop outside the main entrance of bus station, across the road straight ahead. Get off on Vabaduse väljak stop, and turn right towards Kaarli church, we are about 2 minute walk from the tram stop, see directions here.
You have two options from the airport. Either you take bus number 2 from just outside arrivals terminal, costing you 3 euros one way and taking you no more than 15 minutes to reach Tallinn city centre. Get off at Viru Keskus stop. Once you arrive at Viru Keskus, either walk to the hostel or jump on tram 3 or 4 in Tondi direction, taking you to Vabaduse väljak stop. See Google maps instructions here. From there turn right towards Kaarli church and walk about 2 minutes. Second option is to take a taxi which should cost you between 5–7€ and should only take 10–15 minutes depending on traffic.
